4 Star Electronics is member of the Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA). Representing quality and ethically oriented independent distributors of electronic components, the purpose of IDEA is to improve the quality of products and services through establishing standards, quality certification programs, conferences, and educational seminars.
As a global trade association, the organization is comprised of member companies dedicated to quality initiatives and committed to the advancement of quality standards, certifications, best practices, and counterfeit detection methods.
Companies are accepted into IDEA membership only after demonstrating their commitment to a sophisticated and continually improving Quality Management System (QMS) based on ISO 9001:2008, called the IDEA-QMS-9090. The purpose of this new standard is to establish specific requirements and practices that address many of the unique aspects of Independent Distribution that have not typically been addressed by other QMS standards. By tying together the requirements of a QMS with the ANSI/ESD S20.20 and IDEA-STD-1010B standards, the IDEA member companies can ensure that they satisfy their customers' requirements.
